In Memory

John E. Thomas

We recently received notification of the death of John E. "Jack" Thomas who passed away at his home on           June 27, 2010 after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Jack was born on October 22, 1946, one of five sons born to Ralph and Beulah Thomas.  He married Gloria Belongia Kenny on October 28, 1983 in Ft. Meyers, FL.  At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, a step-daughter, Debra (Henry) Holman, four brothers, Ralph, William, Gerald, and Daniel Thomas.

Jack worked as a longshoreman until 1986 and at Martin Petersen in the shipping and receiving department.  He retired from ITT in 2006.  The one thing Jack was most proud of was his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps where he served as an infantry soilder in the Vietnam War from 1966-1968.  He was a member of the VFW, and he showed his friends and family what it was like to be strong-willed.  "Jack was the kindest man you could ever meet and will be missed and held in the hearts of many."

Funeral services were held on July 1, 2010 and entombment was at All Saints Mausoleum.
