Judith (Laba) Reuter, 79, of Pleasant Prairie, WI passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026 at her home in Pleasant Prairie, surrounded by her loving family after a year-long battle with ovarian cancer.
Judy was born on October 6,1946 in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Jakubowicz) Laba. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha graduating from Bradford High School. Judith married Steven Reuter on May 23, 1970 in Kenosha. They celebrated their honeymoon with a circle tour of the Great Lakes. Judy retired from IRIS USA as a human resource associate after many years of service. Her hobbies included watching Hallmark movies, spending summers at her lake home near the Boundry Waters Canoe Area, watching her grandchildren play sports, reading, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family, especially with her grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her children; Jason (Heather) Reuter of Kenosha, Mike Reuter of Ely, MN; grandchildren Kaela and Blake Reuter; brothers, Joseph (Char) Laba of Kenosha, William Laba of Kenosha; sister, Joan Zavasky of Kenosha; sister-in-law, Karen Strangberg of Kenosha; brother-in-law Jerry Reuter; Godchild, Jackie (Guy) Dayen. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, her parents, her brothers Dick Laba and Tom Laba, her brother-in-law, Joe Zavasky, and sister in-law Karen Reuter.
In place of a traditional funeral service, a private dinner for immediate family will be held in August in remembrance of Judy. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to be made in Judy's name to the Hospice Alliance of Kenosha who supported both Judy and her husband, Steve, during their transition to eternal life. www.hospicealliance.org/support--us

Judy and I had a friendship that was a gift from God.
From the day we met as sophomores to our last conversation, just days before she passed, we shared a bond.
Even after Chuck and I moved to Florida 55 years ago, our friendship remained strong. We had long conversations about high school memories, our fun trips, our weddings and kids. We talked about all the happy times and cried during the sad times. We enjoyed seeing each other when we visited Kenosha, and when they came to Florida.
I miss my dear friend, but know we will see each other again.
