We recently received notice that Mary LOVERN Hartwyk-Sparer passed away in Santa Barbara, California on April 27, 2014. Mary succumbed to a rare form of cancer. She is survived by her husband, David Sparer, and her two children. Mary's middle son passed away six months after Mary's death.
There is a journal written by Mary's husband, David, that can be accessed at www.caringbridge.org. Her husband said he would be honored to share this journal with Mary's classmates. When in the site, click on the link "to find a journal" and it is under Mary Sparer. There is also a gallery of photos on this site. You may have to sign up to access. This is a legitamate site and there is no cost involved.

So sorry to hear about Mary. We had some classes together and she was always a good friend. Hard to imagine that she is gone and has been gone for a while now. RIP, Mary, you will be missed.

Mary and I go a long way back - to Jefferson Elementary School; after 7th grade we went to different junior highs. Just before high school, Mary and her mom moved to a house just up the street from us in Forest Park and it was fun to get together again, to laugh, to sneak a cigarette from the samples my mom brought home from Walgreens, to listen to records . I was very saddened to learn of her passing but going on the Caring Bridge site, it was so nice to see her smiling face again and know that in spite of some rough times she found great happiness with David. I will always remember her beautiful smile and bubbly personality. RIP my dear friend.
