The following information was recently received regarding the passing of Barbara BABICH Gillingham:

Barbara Gillingham 75, passed away on March 15, 2022 at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, CA . Born on November 14, 1946 in Ironwood, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late John and Ileana Babich.

Barbara graduated from the University of WIsconsin, Oshkosh with a major in English and a minor in music. Music has always been her passion as she loved to sing and play the piano.  It was at the University of WIsconsin where she met her husband, Gary Gillingham.  They married on July 4, 1970.  They moved from Oshkosh to Chicago, then Las Vegas, before finally settling in San Diego, CA where they spent the last 37 years.

Barbara was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Poway, CA, and taught religious education when her daughter was of school age.  She completed her working career in 2011 when she retired from the Poway Unififed School District.  After retiring she enjoyed traveling to different vineyards throughout California and taking cruises, and spending summers in her Wisconsin home.   

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Paul.  Barbara is survived by her husband, Gary, and her daughter, Lesley Frohnhoefer.
