Notification was recently received regarding the death of Anita Gail Freerking Westphal.

Anita Gail Westphal, 76, of Marinette passed away on January 2, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area.  She succumbed to a very long illness after a courageous fight that finally took her life.

Gail was born to the late Fred and Norene (Daley) Freerking in Peoria IL and moved to Kenosha WI when she was young.  Gail graduated from Mary D. Bradford and continued her education at Gateway Community College. She moved to Arizona in 1978 before returning to Wisconsin in 1996.

Gail is survived by two sons, Tim (Gina) Chandler of Marinette and Rick (Tonille) Westphal of Mayville, WI. She is survived by 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  She is survived by brothers: Steven Freerking, Anthony Freerking, Randy Freerking and Scott Freerking; sisters: Janet Michaels and Kristi Racine.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Frederick Freerking, Dennis Freerking and Michael Freerking; and sister, Patricia Largent.
