Graduated from Carthage college in 1969 and went to work in retail for 5 years with Topps and Zayre discount store and that is where I met my future wife. I took a test and got a job with the state of Illinois. This was to be for a short time and 37 years later, four other jobs in two different departments with the state of Illinois I worked as a social worker, a family support specialist, then a tax auditor and the last 10 years as a Tax Audit Supervisor. I retired on 12/31/11. I do woodworking in my spare time and refinish furniture to keep me busy.
School Story

I remember in high school where we: Larry Weiss, Tim Margetson, Bill Mikolyzk and Allen Becker would get together on Friday or Saturday nights and play pinochle. If it was not for being a locker partner with Larry Weiss, I probably would not have made it through high school with friends at all. I had good friends in Gordie Hess, Chuck Lange, Bill Mikolyzk, Bill Becker and 16" softball teammates.

Yesterday would have been our 50th wedding anniversary and today it is 9 years since my wife Susan died of cancer. Today has been rough for me and I guess posting this today is a way to ease the memories.
